We know how hectic the holiday season can be, but every October we are greeted with another kind of rush similar to that of a midnight sale: Philippine Fashion Week (#PhFW). This five-day event puts our physical, mental, and style stamina to the test as we sit, observe, and digest designs right off-the-runway before tweeting and instagramming a few seconds later. But in true Preview girl fashion, fatigue must be covered up in camo, just like heal strain should be hidden under a pair of silver pumps. So if you plan to join the ruckus with us in style, here are a few cheats and tricks to keep you well dressed under stress.
When your phone dies, then that’s it. Brag about your invite or talk about it over the weekend, if it’s not on your instagram feed you were never really there. So don’t, at all cost, let your battery die. Even if it means charging multiple powerbanks for extra ammo. As they say, there is power in numbers.
Your feet are allowed to ache. Gorgeous shoes don’t come cheap, and walking around in 4-5 inch heels, with or without a platform or wedge, for an entire day has its consequences. But if your feet can’t take no more, trade height for flat shoes just as fly as its predecessor.
People don’t read nowadays. But for Fashion Week reading the fine print will determine whether you’re a gatecrasher or an actual guest. So please, répondez s’il vous plaît.
Got everything figured out from the neck down but no idea what to do face up? A statement lip is enough to seal the deal. No makeup, undone hair, absence of jewelry— bold lipstick will get you through your laziness up top. (P.S: Plus, you can always say bare skin is in.)
We know how the weather here can be so unpredictable. The day starts cool and breezy, but somehow ends up so humid it feels like summer. And even if you want to keep your tresses down, there is no way but up- tied in a messy bun that’s literally both cool and chic to keep for the rest of the day.
